The APIC-5053 is a multi-spring double Plan 53 stationary cartridge seal with hydraulic balanced seal faces. The innovative design has springs out of the process media, therefore excellent for viscous or corrosive process applications.
This innovative seal design has stainless steel wetted parts and is offered with a highly efficient bi-directional pumping ring for Plan 53. The pumping ring conforms and exceeds the requirements of the API682 standard for pumping ring radial clearances.
The APIC-5053 stationary pusher double cartridge seal has Monolithic seal faces which are ideal for high temperature sealing and self-aligning stationary seal faces.
The mechanical seal comes with Multi-Springs, Set Screw Drive and 1/2" NPT Plan 53 Barrier in (BI) and Barrier Out (BO) port connections.
Importantly, the seal has a directed plan 53 flow path, ensuring cool fluid is delivered to the seal faces for optimum seal face longevity.
The seal also has an outboard 'floating' restriction bush, as well as Vent (V) and Drain (D) connections which can be employed for Plan 62 quench to drain systems, or seal leakage monitoring. The seal comes factory assembled and tested.
This seal is designed for modern API682 pumps but can be adapted to fit old pumps designed to API 610 Ed.7 onwards.
SUPPLY OPTIONS:
- Exotic Alloy wetted parts such Duplex and Super Duplex are available for processing corrosive process media.
This seal incorporates best practice features and innovation as detailed in our technical blogs and white papers.
** Apply "industry standard" Pressure, Speed and Temperature de-rating factors, by shaft size and application. The safe seal performance characteristics are typical characteristics for each variable in isolation. The individual upper limit values of each variable should NOT be used in multiple combinations of Speed, Pressure and Temperature. Contact our Technical Sales Department for further details.
