The LBBS-7000 is a high performance Labyrinth Seal designed for use on Electric Motors. It incorporates a parallel outside diameter (OD) and an integral Grounding Ring, that helps to prevent premature failure of the bearings as a result of electrical fluting. Electrical fluting is a form of electrical erosion where electrical discharge strips metal surfaces and erodes the material. Electrical fluting presents as a series of ridges or “flutes” that appear along bearing raceways, especially in motors equipped with variable frequency drives (VFDs)
This bearing seal will fit small x-sectional spaces, typically where lip seals or oil seals have previously been employed, and is certified to IP55; a standard for the protection of rotating equipment bearing chambers.
Our LBBS-7000 labyrinth seal design is offered as a complete cartridge solution that installed into the rotating equipment in a similar way to a lip or oil seal.
Design Features include;
This innovative LBBS-7000 labyrinth seal is designed around best practice technology. Please see our Blog section for technical white papers on the design principles incorporated.
This seal incorporates best practice features and innovation as detailed in our technical blogs and white papers.
** Apply "industry standard" Pressure, Speed and Temperature de-rating factors, by shaft size and application. The safe seal performance characteristics are typical characteristics for each variable in isolation. The individual upper limit values of each variable should NOT be used in multiple combinations of Speed, Pressure and Temperature. Contact our Technical Sales Department for further details.
